When you acknowledge how much you have, you open yourself to receiving more.
We often get so caught up in comparison—using how other people are living their lives as a yardstick for how we should be living ours.
We’ve all heard that comparison is the thief of joy. But truly, comparison steals more than joy – it steals motivation as well.
When we compare our lives to others around us, activating envy and negativity, we lose sight of our goals and our destination. We also lose sight of the fact that life is made up of trade-offs. Your friend is able to post reminiscent pictures of her vacation in Bora Bora, but she didn’t post the 80-hour weeks of consistent hard work that allowed her launch a project early and fund her Bora Bora trip.
So let’s challenge ourselves today to focus on what we have in front of us. Celebrating our road and our journey, rather than comparing our behind-the-scenes reality to somebody else’s highlight reels.
If comparison is the thief of joy, celebrating what you have is the harbinger of laughter. Stay in your lane and love your journey.

Where life can be lived, so can a good life.
